Bulldogs 8U Hockey Program Details
5U, 6U, 7U, 8U, Girls 8U and Muskies Information
5U 2021 & Younger
Skill development station-based practices are held on Wednesdays and Saturdays. Practices always include a game-based station. Cross-ice games, both in-house and against other Metro Detroit associations, will be arranged in the second half of the season.
Teams will be divided evenly based on attendance and/or event limits. There may be a nominal fee for away events.
Communication
General Bulldogs 8U Hockey communication will come through the Bulldogs Hockey weekly Constant Contact email.
6U 2020
Skill development station-based practices are held on Wednesdays and most Saturdays. Players will have the opportunity to participate in several cross-ice jamborees and half-ice scrimmage games, both in-house and against other Metro Detroit associations.
Teams will be evenly divided based on attendance and/or event limits. There may be a nominal fee for away events.
Communication
General Bulldogs 6U Hockey communication will come through the Bulldogs Hockey weekly Constant Contact email.
Communication specific to the 2020 group will come through the 6U Manager. This will likely be by email and will be used for event sign-ups, gathering attendance in advance of events, and other group-specific updates.
7U 2019 & 8U 2018
Separate birth-year skill development station-based practices are held on Wednesdays. All 2019 and 2018 players will be placed on evenly divided or drafted Mite teams with evenly mixed ages.
Teams play in an in-house half-ice league. Games are held on most Saturdays throughout the season, with playoffs at the end. Teams will also compete in the annual Christmas Pond Hockey tournament.
Full Season Requirement
Players must be registered for the Full Season program to be placed on a Mite team.
Communication
General Bulldogs 8U Hockey communication will come through the Bulldogs Hockey weekly email.
Communication specific to individual half-ice Mite teams will come through individual teams. This is primarily used for reminders about Saturday game times, goalie assignments, and other team-specific updates.
Bulldogs 8U Girls 2018-2019
Girls Only Program
Bulldogs 8U Hockey Full Season registration is required to participate in the Bulldogs 8U Girls Program.
Players will participate in girls-only 8U events, both in-house and against other Metro Detroit associations. Bulldogs 8U Girls operates in conjunction with Bulldogs 8U Hockey, and players also participate with boys on regularly scheduled 8U days.
A 2018/2019 team will hold practices and games. Fees specific to Bulldogs 8U Girls, including ice, jerseys, tournaments, and related costs, will be billed and collected by the Bulldogs 8U Girls Manager.

Communication specific to Bulldogs 8U Girls will come through Bulldogs 8U Girls TeamSnap.

2018 Muskies - 2019 Muskies
Full Season Requirement
Bulldogs 8U Hockey Full Season registration is required to participate with the 2018 Muskies and 2019 Muskies.
Muskies are 8U 2018 and 7U 2019 travel teams that will age up to Bulldogs Gold at 10U.
These franchises will hold tryouts in the last two weeks of March for spring teams. The spring program is determined by each individual team, typically running from April 1 through the week before Memorial Day. Spring programming is usually 1-2 days per week and may include 4-10 home or away scrimmages and 1-2 local tournaments.
Fall/Winter rosters will be decided and communicated by each individual team’s Head Coach and/or Franchise Holder after spring.
Muskies teams will have 1-2 days per week for practices and home games. Muskies play in the AAU league. The league is separated by birth year, and divisions are based on caliber. Divisions include teams from Metro Detroit.
Muskies teams will play 20-30 games, 1-2 full-ice tournaments, and 1-2 half-ice tournaments.
Muskies teams operate in conjunction with, but financially separate from, Bulldogs 8U Hockey. Fees specific to individual Muskies teams, including ice, jerseys, tournaments, referees, and related costs, will be billed and collected by each individual team’s manager.
Communication
Communication specific to individual Muskies teams will come through each individual team’s TeamSnap.
